ok after half day getting this thing out seal changed now the mother wont go back in can i try to pcll it in while turning shaft to line up splines |

| Glad you got it out. How did you do it??? If it won't go back in, and you have the use of and knowledge to use a pair of OD micrometers, measure the very end of the shaft spline and see if it is mushroomed larger than the rest of the spline. Mine was only a couple of thousands oversized and I was able to file it back to size. It then slid in easly. |

| Yes, you will need to line up the splines when you reassemble the shaft. It may also help to try engaging and disengaging the pto lever and rotatng the shaft while pushing it back in. .....one thing I failed to mention was that there is a bushing (Pt No 9N 649) inside the pump that I believe was holding up the removal of the splined shaft for me. I found it had been broached somewhat by the mushroomed shaft end so I replace it with a new one upon rebuilding the pump. But I honestly believe it would have been useable in the condition that it was in. Good luck |
