I have a rather long, 6000 sq foot, asphalt driveway that was put in two years ago. I seal coated it this year. It sure looks pretty. I clear the snow off of the driveway with a six foot back blade and my 8N. A neighbor told me that his father used to put hard rubber on his back blade to stop from making scratch marks on the asphalt. The problem is he does not know if his father purchased the rubber from some place for that purpose or made his own. I have several ideas of what may work but sure would appreciate any suggestions on what does work.

The center / tread part of a well worn tire works very well bolted in front of the cutting edge with longer mounting bolts. None steel belted tires are easier to cut.

If you decide to make them I'd stop in at ur Farm store and pick up a horse stall mat. Cut it with a sawzal and bolt it up.

Any place that sells plow equipment can get polyurethane cutting edges. That would be the route I would take.

The sno-pushers they put on loaders for clearing big parking lots generally use a rubber cutting edge - I have never bought them but use to change them

Would baler belt work? You can get this at TSC and other places.

I used it for a guard on the front of my bushhog - works great!
