My recommendations on manuals are in tip # 39. As to hydraulic fluid, check out tips 3 & 4. Follow Soundguy's advice on the troubleshooting. I go by the 5 minute rule.....if it leaks down in less than 5 minutes, I worry about it! Take some time & read the info on John Smith's site. It's first rate. Regarding parts, these guys usually have a good selection of used parts: Jim Bills jimnjen3ATearthlink.net Jim Webb jwwebb1155ATaol.com John Smith smith8NATatt.net Replace the AT in the address w/ @ For new parts, try this site or Just8N's. A few of us haven't had good luck w/ N parts from TSC. NAPA carries a lot of parts as well.
When you ask specific questions about your N, it’s usually a good idea to tell us: 1. The model of your tractor (2N, 9N, 8N, NAA, etc). 2. If it is 6v or 12v. 3. If it’s an N, if the distributor is on the front or side of the engine. 4. If it has any major parts that are not OEM, such as electronic ignition, a side coil on a front distributor, etc. Troubleshooting is different depending on the model of the tractor, voltage, ignition system & distributor placement. And, even if you told us that last week, remember that you’re dealing w/ a bunch of guys w/ CRS. Check out the pictures on John Smith's website regarding your other questions. And do buy the manuals! Post back w/ any questions. |
