Before and after pix, mainly for the owner of the carb., but also to show what an original TSX33 carb. looks like when it leaves my carb. shack.

Will be testing this, on Hermie the 2N today, and shipping it back to the owner, tomorrow. (If all goes as planned on the testing) :lol:

Before overhaul:

After overhaul:

Have an "N" day!!!

If/when I find out....I'll post it. Weird acting, runs good, Idles good.....Only will go so far with the top end of the throttle.

I've got to have missed somthing in one or more of the passages.!!!???

Funny thing is: I had good air flow with the air gun through all of them...soooooo, As soon as I get some other stuff done around here....it is back into a dismantle mode!!!!!!!!!!! :shock:

Did I tell ya .......I have tunes in the shack...maybe thats where I went wrong. Not paying attention to buisness!!!!!!!!!! :lol:

Not my gov.,.....checked that out already....gotta be the carb. :?

Gary:

When you go back into that carb and find out what was causing the problem, please post the results so we can learn what you found out. This is something like reading a mystery and I for one would like to hear the outcome.

Pike;

The dental picks, I get from my dentist, after they are no longer of any use to him, he just chucks them in the can. I just call him, for more, and he saves them for me.

As for the "ROACH clips".......those are surgical clamps used by doc's, to clamp off bleeders in surguries. Same deal there, just hunt around for a doctor that will give ya the worn ones!!!!! :wink:

My wife got those for me a long time ago, from the hospital where she use to work as a respitory theropist.

rml;

As r geiger, told ya....that peice is to insure that the adj. power screw does not move from the intended setting. The later M/S TSX carbs did not use this.

This carb, came from IL., off a 1941 9N. First one that I have ever worked on in this good a condition, that had all the orig. peices still on it!!! :shock:

Now all I have to do .....is get it RUNNING good!!! My testing did not go well today....sooooo, I must have missed something the first time around.

There is always a first, in everything ya do!!! :lol: Back on the work bench for this one. Top end power is not what I liked. Must still have a restriction in it somewhere. :x

Thanks Dan;

Yep, that radiator heater is a good one. Havn't been cold in there yet. It's filled with oil, and once it gets up to temp, I have to keep an eye on it, or it will cook me right out of the shack!!! :lol:

I was out there until 7:20 last night finishing up this carb. 33* outside and 69* in the shack. Works great!!! 8)

Gary:

So now that it is colder there, how is the shop working out? Are you able to keep it cozy enough with the electric heat?

As always, that carb looks new and I bet it works like new too.
