How good or how long would you run the TSC Traveller Brand of Anti-Freeze in a Ford Explorer? I have a couple of jugs of it and would like to use it in my wife's car. It doesn't say how long it is good for, and I don't want to change it again next year, but I have two jugs in the garage.
Thanks. |

My 2000 Ford Ranger with 102,000 miles still has the factory anti-freeze. Everything else is falling apart but the cooling system is still good. |

Thanks for the notes. | I could be mistaken, but I believe it is good pretty much good forever for freeze protection and the reason for changing is to maintain corrosion protection, especially important in engines with aluminum exposed to coolant. If someone KNOWS better, speak up. |

| If it's Green... 3-years. If it's Orange...5-years. (Otherwise read the small print on the container.) |

| Get a tester. As long as the tester shows you have adequit protection for the temps. in your area , you should be ok. I have antifreeze in our
'97 F-150 that has never been changed, just added to when it gets low. We have winter temps. of 15-30 all the time and we have not had any problems. |

| | G^: The conventional rule is 2 years but I often use it longer. If you are paranoid like me, mix it with distilled water rather than tap water. Distilled water costs less than $1.00/gallon and has no chlorine, etc. therein. Dean |

| I figure it ought to be good as well, I just don't want to have to change it again in the near future.
Thanks. |
