Need Help! I ordered the new and improved design starter drive to replace the old style on a 1952 8n. When i got it there were no instructions, took it out of the box looked at it turned it and it sprung open. the pin hole to the starter shaft is now half closed. of course to hold the pin in when mounted. how do i get it back to the mounting position where the pin hole is open on the drive. |

| If you put it together and it doesn't work (like the drive isn't engaging) let me know. Some starters had to be modified. A second hole was drilled 1/2" in from the original hole on the armature. |

| herman.......gently mount yer starter UPSIDE-DOWN in yer vise where you can see the roll-pin hole. Now with yer left armpit, lean down on the starter compressing the drive spring so you can insert the roll-pin and then using a drift (nail?) hammer it home. Some grind a taper (chisel point) on the roll-pin fer eazier insertion into starter shaft. Simple, eh? .......Dirty Pitts Dell |

| As I recall, I just had to wrestle with it. Compress it enough to get the pin started and drive it in. I did slightly taper the corners of the lead end of my pin to help a little. A helper makes it much easier but I never have one. |
