Good evening gents...I would like to know if anyone can tell me where to get 16" front rims for 8N without weight holes? I know I've seen them before but, can't remember where. I would also like to know where one might pick up the canopy for the 8N. Not the umbrella. As always thank you. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to answer someone's question. Thanks again.
Eddy

The early 16" front wheels had riveted construction and no weight holes. I have two of them for sale. Email me if interested.

The link below will take you to a page of thumbnail photos of a bunch of other used parts I have available.

Dell,

I think you made a typo (8 bolt wheels). I do believe that all the 8Ns had 6 bolt front wheels, and yes....I have used standard implement rims of either 15" or 16" size depending on what size pair of tires I had available at that moment. I do prefer to use 15" trailer rated tires (like from a travel trailer) because they have a firm sidewall and a narrow footprint but no ribs to tear up the lawn. They also go quite well down the road. And they are FREE! And so are the rims (wheels) I used because they came off an old light style running gear.

As to the other question of what car rims work for this application, I do believe you are out of luck. Wheel manufacturers designated a different center hole diameter for implement wheels than for car wheels. This prevents someone from using a low speed lighter weight implement wheel on a car or PU. Automotive wheels are built to a higher standard than implement wheels.

Glad to send any of our excess rain to anyone in need. Harvest in this area of E Central MN has been nearly at a stand still, and it is still raining. MUD takes trump.

Eddy:

I believe you will need to look to the used market to find late 8N style 16" fromt rims without holes for front weights.

Hey John,
I have one with no Weight holes.
It is an Old school Tractor rim.
I use it for my spare tire.
I don't know Where Eddy could Buy one?????
John Smith or Tim Ponn (Grand Valley Tractor)may be able to help him.
