| IMHO, $1800 is a good price for the tractor...but I'd tweak him at a few hundred less. But, even at $1800, I wouldn't care what the situation was with the hydraulics....they can be fixed. And what do you end up with?...A nice tractor that, within a couple years, will be worth significantly more than you have in it! All this, of course, assumes that it's a CONFIRMED Jubilee...We've all seen MANY models referred to as "Jubilees". |

| Well, I did e mail but no response so maybe its gone - however, can you give me more information about what a 'Confirmed' Jubilee is? Not sure what that means. Many thanks,

| | Lee.......what do you think "confirmed" means??? ONLY the 1953 NAA is the Jubilee. It is confirmed by looking at the cyclops hood medallion which specifically sez "Golden Jubilee". (unless its fallen off or been replaced) Then yer "stuck" with confirmation via engine block serial number above the starter tranny bump. (and engines have been known to be replaced, so notta sure thing) Don't gitt hung-up on finding a Jubilee unless yer a sphincterly challenged tractor inspector ......Dell |

| I am basically looking for a slightly larger and more powerful tractor with a 'live' hydraulic system - the system on the 8N is ok but sometimes can be a bit annoying with engaging/disengaging levers - this seems a good price to me and would work for me with the brush hog - I can use the other one for trailer work and the small blade I have for clearing the driveway.
If it is or is not a 'confirmed' Jubilee really is not that important to me...I was just wondering what that comment was about.

| 'Hydraulic issue' could be a project/problem, maybe not. You'll have to contact the owner and quiz him about what he knows about the 'issue'. Could be as simple as bleeding the pump for the cost of a few papers towels, all the way up to the cost of finding a used topcover over a bad break. This kind of 'crapshoot' is why those of us that buy and sell these tractors won't give much for a tractor that can't 'prove' it's condition by demonstration. If I was looking for a Jube, and by your recent posts, you are, I'd go look and run the entire tractor thru its paces. In that condition, if everything else checked out well, I'd be tempted to make an offer around $1,500, but be prepared to walk if the hydraulics has an obvious catastrophic failure. It's pretty tough to sell a top of the line refurb around here in this economy. LOTS of low end 'beaters' out there on the market. I could run my trailer constantly after sub 1K Fords and Fergies around here if I was so inclined but, they're NOT selling well in 'field condition' at all. I have a Jubilee here with $2000.00 worth of brand new engine, great sheetmetal, tires , hydro, etc. I can't even get a call on @ $2,900.00. I'll keep and use it before I lose money on it.Good hunting. The deals ARE out there if you are patient, jim |
