| DN/9N said: (quoted from post at 20:43:00 10/27/09) I'm having trouble getting my 9N to start. I've had to jump start it off and on throughout the summer. I pulled it into the garsge to charge the battery, after a few hours I tried to start and the solinoid would just click! Went and bought a new battery and starter solinoid. Installed both, and now the starter engages but tractor won't start. I've been reading the fourums and am now looking at the coil. I did notice that the ignition resistor is broke in half. Would that cause the no spark problem that I'm having? | Good chance that it could, but of course it could possible have a mechanical break in structure & still have electrical continuity? Jumper across it (that is bypass it) and see if it will start. You don't want to run it more than a few minutes this way as it may damage the coil due to too much current and overheating, but it is a good OK test. |

| I just tried jumping the two wires on the resistor. It turned over but did not start. I took the jump wire off and now I get nothing when I try to start. What did I break now? |
