12 Volt wiring diagramfor 9n ford

I purchased a 9n with a 12 volt kit on it but the Alt is not charging the Battery. I"ve had the alt tested and it is OK but there is only one wire from the alt and I believe the others should hook up somewhere. Does anyone have a diagram on how to wire it or any suggestions?

Be sure to use the diagram that uses the diode and the two spade terminals on the rear of the alternator. Its a little more work but allows the alternator to charge at a lower engine RPM. It worked so well I used it on my bobcat

blessedishe........uh? don't fergitt yer 1-wire alternator needs to be "jazzed" to 1800rpm (3/4-throttle) before it will start chargin' yer 12-volt battery. And yes, the 1-wire will test OK at autoparts stores but they runn it faster. The fast charging 1-wire is also quite common with automobile conversions and marine conversions, both with faster running engines.

The 3-wire alternator conversion with external excitation (P-1) and remote sense (P-2) will start charging at about 600rpms. yer call......Dell, a 12-volt advocate for the right reasons

I think this problem can be eliminated by installing the correct 5/8 wide, 2-1/2" dia. pulley on the alternator. Most 12v alternator kits sold now for the tractors, come with the one wire alternator equipped with the correct pulley and correct 5/8 wide belt.
I think this may be his problem. don b 1
