9N I bought has basterized wiring with a 12 volt battery, original 6 volt generator and no amperes meter. My question: dose the 12 Volt Conversion Kit, Front Mount Distributor come with a complete wiring harness or will I have to rewire myself or order a wiring harness? Any and all input would be thankfully appreciated.

ll the kits I have seen & helped folks with came with a wiring harness and crappy to just plain wrong instructions/diagram.

Red.......when you buy a "kit", EVERYTHING is supposed to be "included". including wiring and instructions. (written in 6-languages 'cept 'mericum) .......Dell

Thanks JMOR & Dell When you say "including wiring and instructions" dose this mean wiring for the key switch, amp meter and everything else or just what is needed for the conversion? Sorry for my ignorance but this is a first time venture for me. Dose Yesterday's Tractor sell American or do you know who will?

Thanks again, Red

Red.......you ask......"including wiring and instructions" dose this mean wiring for the key switch, amp meter and everything else or just what is needed for the conversion?" .......yes, there are NO secret wires

And yes, Yesterdays Tractors sells 12v conversions kits. You just need to determine whether yer tractor engine is 4-nipple frontmount or 5-nipple sidemount and order appropriately. Simple, eh? .......Dell

Shows all, but as I said earlier, it is usually between crappy & just plain wrong. When you get it, e-mail or post a scan of the diagram & I'll mark it up for you, to something you can use. Or you could disregard their diagram and use one of many others the myself & others have devised.

I am curious if your tractor starts and runs with the 12 volt battery installed? I ran a 9N for almost twenty years like yours, with a 12 volt battery and 6 volt generator. Someone before you may have changed the coil or added a resistor to make it work.

12 volt conversion kit from this site has everything you need including a complete wiring kit. You will need to change the pulley on the alternator. The one on it is not correct. The correct one is included in the box. Alternator as sent is a one wire set up. If you want to hook it up as three wire you will need to buy diode and jumper for back of alternator.
