12V conversion kits.

All the 12V conversion kits (here and other sites) seem to use 1 wire alternators. Scanning archives a while back all the discussion was for 3 wire. Any reason not to use a 1 wire kit?

Based on that archive info I did manage to successfully convert my Oliver crawler using 3 wire & diode. But there I didn’t have an option about fabricating the brackets & harness.

Brackets are all you need........wiring changes 'ain't chit' as someone we all know here is fond of saying.
Even without a welder, you can drill & bolt.....yeah, it will take longer.
Of course having seen a few & heard about other instruction sheets that come with the kits, you will be on your own anyway. Unbelievable! Here we go again.........can't help it.........but at the least the Chinaman 'tech writer' ought to mail it to someone on this side of the world to proof read!!!! WOW!!

From an old friend in the Auto Electrical industry.

Self Exciting Voltage regulators don't have any thermal compensation, & they charge the
battery at too hi a voltage boiling the water out of the battery....IE they don't sense the voltage of the battery just mindlessly charge.
