Got my truck running this weekend. I had discovered that in addition to no spark, my fuel pump would not pressurize. After troubleshooting and diagnosing the best I could at home, I couldn't pin point the problem. I checked all the suggestions I had from this board the best I could, and could not confirm any electronic part was bad. Turns out I was looking too closely. I stepped back a bit then noticed my ground strap from the motor to the firewall had deteriorated to the point where it was about rotted off. Thinking there was a slim possibility that this was contributing to the problem, I cleaned and repaired it. That Was It! Turned key on and the fuel pump pressurized and the truck started right up.

Boy I would have figured that the motor was grounded through other areas, and the strap was just an extra ground.

Thanks again for all the help!

Jim

Congratulations. Remember: Confucious say: Easy fix now mean tough row to hoe tomorrow.
