UB Special Width

I just bought a UB Special that at some point I need to haul home. Does anyone have a rough idea how wide it would be with the wheels configured as they are in these photos.

According to the nebraska test report, it has a rear tread width of 54.5 to 84.5. So, 84.5 plus the width of one rear tire will get the widest it could be.

I have to look at the trailer. It is either 82 or 84. It is a 23 partial tilt trailer that is used to haul a skid steer and other stuff. Rated at 12,000 pounds I believe. Have access to a deck over gooseneck as well but would rather take the smaller trailer since it is a long drive.

Width depends on tires and where located on axle. Being a narrow front wheels may be widened. If need be can measure mine. Not here as wouldn't go on my trailer. Hauled many models. I now check width before. Had to drop one wheel off a few times.

Both of my UB's measure approx. 84" from outside to outside of tire, give or take an inch. One has the hubs on the axles like yours, with no axle showing, and 14.9 tires.

On the other one, the hubs are reversed on the axles (flat side out). That one has about 3 1/2" of axle showing on each side, and 15.5 tires.

But the outside to outside measurements on both tractors are approximately the same.

Hope that helps.

You are no doubt right, if wheels were set as narrow as possible there would be axel exposed on the outside regardless of which way the hubs were on the axel.
