How much does the big cast rear hubs/centers weigh? Is it easy to get a UB to weigh #5000 that has a wide front? What is the lightest UB puller known?

my buddy barely makes 5000 with a narrow front and 15.5 tires. If you want to make it with a wide front, you'll probly want a lighter than factory front, or use a lot of aluminum. make a light-weight seat and probably weld-on hubs. you'll want some weight to spare, they usually don't hook up good in 5000

My '53 UB goes across at 5500 lbs, with cast centers. Weighed a set of centers the other day, 215 lbs each, rims at 98 lbs each. Div 2 with bolt on hubs, div 3 with weld on hubs. Keep that in mind. Good luck and have fun with her.

I took my cast centers off and went to clamp on hubs and steel wheels, I lost around 600 lbs. UB diesel, factory floor plate and seat assembly, no pto or hydraulics, narrow front, 18.4/34 Firestone rears, lighter tranny cover, aluminum radiator, me (240) I'm just under 5400#, depending on how much fuel I have, which is usually about 10 gallons. I could easily loose more with weld on hubs and a light weight floor plate. I've heard of them down to 4800....

Back in the late 80's early 90's My UB had a brown mule front end aluminum oil pan steel wheels most everything stripped and with me on it 200 lbs we just made 5000 lbs.I'm sure today you might get it lighter easier
