First off, kind of a Deere guy but I think I understand most carbs pretty good when it comes to tearing into them but I don't have much experience with these carbs.

My UTS only wants to run on 3/4 to full choke and even then it's kinda variable. I keeps acting like it's not getting enough fuel. Do these have a bowl vent? I always thought if those were plugged the whole system could kinda get air locked and gas could not make it through the system. Any suggestions on where to start?

Also, how many UTS were made?

Thanks

I took the carb off, cleaned everything and when I was going to put it back on I noticed that the butterfly was close all the way when the throttle was at idle.

A simple adjustment of the idle screw pretty much solved all my problems.

It's for sale in case any of you are interested, it doesn't have much rust on it at all and the sheet metal is perfect.

Like MMDEL recommends disconnect the fuel line and look for a SOLID stream of gas. If you find gas just sorta dribbles out, find and correct the restriction in the fuel line.

If you've got good flow, drop the carb bowl and thoroughly clean the insides. Pay particular attention to the power jet at the bottom of the bowl (where the power mix adjusting needle fits into). Clean/blow out all rust and other debris here. Better yet, remove and disassemble the carburetor. Give it a long soak in a good carb cleaning solvent then blow out EVERY passage and orifice.

Note the Marvel TSX carb on your UTS is as simple and about as trouble-free an old carburetor as was ever made. There's not a lot to go wrong that's not easily fixed!

Better take the fuel line off first and make sure you have continuous good full flow to the carb.

Take the stand pipe out. Brass pipe thats in the middle of the venturi. There is a jet below it. Clean everything and it will run much better!
