| Yes, it will. It takes some work with the rear seal I believe. The 585 engine was based off some HD800 dimensions. It is often referred to as the 800 diesel. |

| The 800 has a 6" stroke and the 585 is 5.5". The last 585 crank that went through here had chromed journals. I dont know if they are all that way. None of this means it wont fit but it is not exact either. Jeff |

| I think the only thing they have in common is that they are both 6 cylinder engines. The 585 was only built as a diesel and the 800 was only built as a gas/LP. I understand the 585 used more studs to hold the blocks/heads to the crankcase.
