What I have learned though, is that a filter for a 670 can be made to work with a little engineering. I think they are shorter than the Special filters so you need a spacer to hold it tight to the back of the canister. I haven't tried it because it turns out that mine is missing the canister and original filter from inside the pan. At some point someone drilled into the main oil galley from the outside and mounted a homemade spin on adapter set up. So my remedy is to swap the pan and pump from a straight UB diesel, and the filters are available for that. Not original, but will work. How does the Special system work? I don't see in the pictures where the oil flows through the canister? [Reply]   [No Email]

The oil flows into the cover, then thru a gallery to the filter, then out of the filter thru a return hole back to the pan. I believe I have the flow direction correct , but could be wrong.
