Remove self locking nuts if so equipped, lockwashers if they are there and tighten plain nuts evenly to 15 ftlbs [Reply]  [No Email]

If not, there's your problem. Those energy cells need to be good and hot to work efficiently. If you've had it apart and just put it back together, check your timing, you may need a couple more degrees advance, which is where I would start. Loosen the pump and give it some and see if that helps. If its all original, could just be valve adjustment or an injector issue. I would run a couple bottles of Lucas injector cleaner through it. Don't follow the directions, use one quart to 5 or 10 gallons of fuel, that should help. [Reply]  [No Email]

The original pumps on these don't have timing advance. I have a 707 that does this. It turns about 2200 at high idle and has a definate skip to it. As soon as it loads up a bit it goes away. You can advance the timing, but if you go too far it won't start very well. [Reply]  [No Email]
