I was wondering if anyone out there had a 5-star without power steering or a torque amplifier. I'm looking for a straight through shaft to remove my torque and/or the seal block to go around the steering shaft in place of the valve body. Rare as hen's teeth? Advice appreciated. Thanks.

Ethan

Ethanator, You are looking for a part that doesn't exist on that straight though shaft. My 5-star standard doesn't have a torque in it and what was done at the factory to omit it was MM made a splined collar that connected the two shafts together in place of the torque.

Exactly. Looking for that splined connector. My 335 is just like that.

My 445 book doesnt show the plate over where the valve bolts on but my 5 Star book does. (part # 10A6617) I think they used the same housing on the 5 Stars if they had power steering or not. The 445 part number for the housing is the same on the 5 Stars also. I have a housing and plate but dont care to part with it at the moment.

On 5-Star wheatland models I've seen a totally different part with no cover. I believe it simply holds a seal. But yeah I think the 445 is the same and I could fabricate a cover rather easily. Thanks!

Ethan, Would the steering on a Brown Jet/445 use the same parts you're looking for? I don't have one but thought the part you're looking for might be on one of those tractors.

Shaft size may be different. I have the parts books fot the two... I'll compare. I don't think p/s is the same bolt pattern. My 335 has no options on it.
