The family of Autolite 386, and hotter 388 and the non resistor version 3116 ARE 18 MM PLUGS, the family of 3076 and the hotter 3077 (deep reach side wire electrodes) ARE 7/8 PLUGS.... If its the 18 mm I prefer the Autolite 3116 as they are NON RESISTOR but if you run resistor plugs the 388 is hotter and I also like the Denso L 14 U 5000. If its the 7/8 plug I ONLY use Autolite 3077 PROVIDED its not too deep to interfere with head block or piston. John T NOT a Twin City guy but been around the block as far as electrical stuff is concerned |

| | I think the original plug was something like a champion d-16. This plug is great if you are still working the tractor and the engine is in good mechanical condition. Most of these tractors aren't really allowed to get hot any more so a hotter plug is in order, to avoid cold fouling. I have run champion D-21 and autolite 386 with no problems, other than old fuel does put a conductive glaze on a set from time to time. On the tractors I use regularly they seem to work pretty well. |
