Dad's 101 Sr

My dad bought a new 101Sr on 11/30/45 in Iowa Falls, Ia. with a cultivator for 1731.65. We used it till around 1964 when it was traded on a used 444 at A.C. Benton Imp, the John Deere dealer in Hampton, Ia. who had an auction every year to sell excess equipment, and it was on the auction that year. This tractor had some distinct modifications that would make it easy to recognise. My dad had drilled holes thru the cowling above the dash, put a piece of pipe thru and mounted headlights on the pipe. Also had made a strap iron with a return spring to set the brakes and also made a lever from a cultivator lever to engage the PTO. At the auction it also had a PTO hydraulic pump on it. I have a nice 101, so I'm not looking just to buy, but would sure like to know if anyone has or remembers this tractor. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi Kurt:
Do you know what the serial # is of your dads old 101? I am a avid Massey Collector and it is possible I may have the tractor you looking for in my lower shed. It is Serial #262557 Engine #MFA226G11297 it has a PTO driven hydraulic pump and a make shift gismo on the PTO lever. It has lights cobbled on the side of the hood but I didn"t notice any holes in the dash but this could have been replaced some time ago. You can email me [email protected]
Thanks, Joe
