Dealer Frustration

I'm getting pretty frustrated with my not so local MF dealer.They are about 1.5 hours round trip for me. I've asked them a couple of times to please order a rear main seal for my MF 97 diesel. It's the rope type and it appears to be available. I've been there twice and still no part. Now it's no part, no return phone calls, no returned email--frustrating. Just tell me you can't get it or don't want to order it--but tell me something. So where can I order a seal and have some sense that I might actually get it? I'm also still looking for a left side grill screen. Will any other model screen fit the 97?

Sorry to hear about your dealer grief. I was just thinking yesterday how good mine has been with the limited business I've thrown him. Mine too is 1.5 hours away so I called him Monday AM to order the seal and o-ring for my 135's steering shaft. He didn't have the seal but could get it by Tuesday. When ask he said he could drop ship it to me for ~$20 shipping or UPS is to me for $11. I ask that he put it in an envelope and mail it to me, which he did. I was charged ~$3 for the shipping and had the parts in hand when the mail arrived Wednesday.
Obviously YMMV.

I was having trouble with my local dealer because they wouldn't e-mail me pricing and availability information after I looked it up in the online AGCO Parts Book. I found a dealer who was much more accommodating to my needs. They will direct ship to me with the $20 drop charge or they will ship it in to them and then they will ship to me. Either way it ends up costing me more money but with gas prices as high as they are it's well worth it. Plus my frustration level has gone way down. you should find another dealer. Also, I have bought "hard to find" MF parts from Nolt's Equipment in PA, # 717-776-6242. They specialize in MF tractors and all kinds of parts. They could take care of you, ship parts, and are real nice people.

Just my 2 cents worth. I have been rebuilding an old MF65 Diesel and I have purchased most of my parts from Schmidt Machine in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. They are a fair distance from us so I have always just had them ship the parts and I have always received them the 3rd day after ordering. Very nice and helpful people.
