I have a 775 which is almost the same as the 655. The only problem with these units were with the grain headers....the 21' header to be exact. The 18' headers were okay, but the drive system was too weak for the 21' header. I had to take the pitman drive off of a Massey 34 swather and mount it on my 775 to fix this problem. What happens is the bearings will always fail in the pitman drive or the pitman wobble support bushing will fail. There is sort of a double pitman setup on these units. The wobble drive pulley is hard to get at to replace the bearings. Make sure you keep the bearings adjusted..don't let them get too loose. Once you get this fixed, it is an excellent machine. Parts are getting limited, but you can fabricate most of what you need if you have to. The Auger Headers were real good as well. These units have a fabulous hydraulic lower and raise system that keeps the header parallel with the ground as it goes down. The grain header lays a very nice swath too, but the hole is too small for Canola. Hope this helps you out.

Thank-you, Unit is looking better all the time. This one does look like a New holland. One Up the road is a straight 655 MF with auger header. Wants too much money for my budjet.

These were an exceptional unit to operate and did
a fine job. Any we sold were traded in time for
the 775 unit with some refinements. One of our
customers from the past had his unit on the card
with his obituary info. That said, I would caution
that they have age and be sure it has had care.
When parts became hard to get thru MF we used to
order direct from the Mfg.(McDon Industries in
Winnipeg)They gave good service at fair prices.
We used the branch in No.Dakota. They may have
others). Also the unit was the same as a NH 1090
except the NH didn't have a hay cond.avail. If you
need further info on McDon let me know. My dealing
with McDon goes back at least 5 yrs but I could
give a phone # to call or look up on line. I do
have an owners manual out of my binder if you want
I am thinking $15 plus 2.50 postage. Good luck,
Chuck
