Dieseltech. A question.

Below in another post you said "I have been seeing more injection pump drive seals leaking on pump tear down/inspection."
Is that due to lack of lube in new fuels?
I like to run 1 oz of 2 cycle oil per gallon of diesel fuel in my diesels.
I use the ones with TCW3 in them.
Will that help prevent this problem?
I know it quietens down my 99 Dodge 3500 Cummins when I use it.
Gets a little better mileage also.
Went from 18 MPG to 21 MPG when I first started using it on long trips.
Sure figure it can't hurt anything.
Thanks, Richard

I've noticed my IH 560 diesel runs smoother, quieter too with some two cycle oil added to fuel. Most pumps that come in for leaks both drive seals and O rings are hard, brittle, and/or have small cracks. Main reason I refuse to do top cover throttle/stop shaft leaks on CAV DPA pumps anymore. Best replace ALL the gasket and seals and be done with it. Pump needs torn completely down for drive area and head area leaks anyway.
