Morning [to me, Canada] I just wonder if you have a few words on breaking the 240 apart at the tranny/rear end joint? I plan to look over my " big dean" cd later, if he covered that under a different section or not.
Just wondering if you know of any secret cir clips or bearing rollers that like to drop out place.
Tks again

Hi, nothing to fall out. The important thing is to keep the two halves in line as much as possible for rejoin. You might find it easier to block up under the gearbox an wheel the back end away. When rejoining you will have two splines to align. If you have a mechanical PTO engage the PTO. That way you can turn the PTO to assist engagement of the lower spline. The bullet assembly is easy to remove. You should see any damage before removal. Cut wedges to fit on top of the axle to prevent the engine rolling to one side.
That’s about all that I can think of at the moment.

Very good, I have used the ground speed PTO to back sections apart for clutch work quite often,
all I can do is describe the operation and see what takes place, and wait for a call as to what
did happen..:)
I am sure that it will be a useful machine in the end.
tks
