Dyna balance mower

Had one on the farm since new, they work well for a sickle bar.

Just make sure the tapered socket where the sickle mounts to the drive isn't sloppy. 5/8" wrench fits the bolt.

Dynabalance parts can be hard to come by. When they are not worn out they work fine. I have three, two grenaded on me:-(
Also want to check how much slop between the pto shaft and movement of the sickle, it gives you an idea of how worn out they are. If you get a good one then get the Operator's Manual, know it front to back, and keep it greased.

As the others have said, they are good mowers if properly maintained. The main problem is not keeping the crankshaft greased regularly. I grease mine every day I use it. not just the crankshaft but the whole machine. Best sickle bar mower I have used. I think they were made by Vermeer.

I still use MF 31 mower and this one works real good. Sickle mowers have limitations, but for me and for my grass hay fields is ok especially first cut when grass taller. Sickle mowers less ideal for 2nd cutting in late season. Like any mower, ensure well maintained and sections, guards look good. If you can't run it on a tractor manually rotate main pulley and check function.
