I thought you might like to know how my 245 with the stuck lift turned out. I removed the cylinder thinking the piston was stuck which required the position and draft control levers to come off and that was the big snafu. The lift arms which like you required a hammer and the shaft had to be pressed. Then after ordering a cheap copy of the manual with bad pics I decided to pull the 135 cover and lay it side by side to get the fingers back in. They required much trial and error and now I'm wondering if the adjustments are ok since leaving them the same.
On another note the pump has one of the valve snap ring retainers lifted making me think the cold may have caused that. If I do a valve job or just go with new valve bodies is there a way to check the pump prior to install? Thanks for your help too.

Hello, good to hear that you are making progress. It is essential to understand how the system works so that you'll know if it's assembled correctly. To raise the 3-pt the pump lever must be allowed to move rearwards and vice-versa. If you have the cover upside down you must take this into account. If you select a middle position with the Position Control lever and operate the lift arms by hand the vertical lever should resume a neutral position when the arms reach a corresponding position on their travel.
If you can be sure that you have not changed any adjustments then there is a very good chance that the 3-pt will work satisfactorily. However the absolute accuracy of adjustments made without the special MF service tools cannot be guaranteed.
I presume you are referring to the 4 circlips that hold the chamber plugs in place. I have seen a couple move from their grooves in my 44 years with MF but the plugs have stayed in place. Maybe more bad fitting than anything.
If you go for new bodies then you will have new valves sitting in undamaged/unworn seats.

I compared the movement to that of the 135 and found the roller on the end of position control was 180 out. Other than that not much was the same with the movement. The 245 has a larger cylinder and shaft plus bigger springs than the 135. When removing the 135 side cover the pump roller was missing so no adjustments were made using a non working unit for comparison. I have more movement with the plunger that contacts the vertical arm by 1/4 inch.
