Distributors MF35 MF 50

Ptfarmer, you out there? You answered me about the 35 as to which distributor it had. Would you know what might be on the 50. They look exactly the same, both clip caps Delco. The 50 has a z134 Contential gas motor just like the 35. I have look all over both and can not find any numbers. Before I order the Pertronix Ignitor 2 I want to get it right. Pertronix web site requires you have the distributer number to determine the product you need. Right now it looks like I need the 91143 unit.

Both engines used the Delco clip cap. Later engines used the Delco two screw cap. Just my opinion, I'd keep the points in place. I've seen too many Pertronic conversion kits fail lately..

The 35, and 50 used the same distributor, sometime in the middle on the 1963 year model the 35, and 50 got the newer Delco-Remy 1112643 distributor that had two screws to hold the distributor cap on.
