Do you need to split a MF 230 to get to the hydraulic pump?

So, in my earlier post, I figured out the metal in my hydraulic reservoir were part of the lift pump oscillator, which makes sense because the control valve seems sticky. It's the clip welded to the oscillator body that pins to the cam follower that broke off...

Anyways, probably something I'll need to replace. Do I need to split the tractor to do this, or can it be done through the lift cover?

Hello Brian,
No, you will not need to split the tractor. Drain the oil. Remove the hyd cover. Remove the PTO shaft and remove the
two pump dowels in the side of the centre casing. Remove the shear tube. Move the pump rearwards and lift the rear
end first and and out through the top. I normally place the pump on top of the casing and turn it a few times to
allow the oil to run out.
