I posted this up in the loader and crawler section but see a lot of information on diesel here to so. Just picked up a Walden 5000 loader with Cummins 4B3.9 engine and am trying to get it started. Bleeding the injection system and do not get any fuel to the injectors. Hand pump pushes fuel out all the bleeding taps, but nothing out the lines. We have spun it over with the starter and still no fuel. Is their anything else to do before taking it to the repair shop? Thanks in advance. Jo |

| This is a CAV pump? They can be a total swine to bleed on occasion. Had heaps of trouble with one due to wear as it turned out. Another was just horrible to bleed. I have had some luck getting them to pump by turning the motor over with at least two adjacent injector lines loose at the injector, but it can take a little time for them to start pumping and get the fuel through the high pressure side of the pump. Good luck at the repair shop.

| How long has it been since engine last ran, can be stuck metering valve, rotor plungers or even worse head seizure. May be simple as a bad solenoid too. Older solenoids can be removed to pull out the stop tip and spring, replace body, rebleed and try to start. Can shut off with stop lever on pump cover. New solenoids can't have the plunger removed for this test. |

| Diseltech and Phil thanks for the reply. Spent another 4 hr's on checking every thing out and finally pulled it off. The shaft is turning, rotor plungers move, removed the stop tip from the solenoid, cleaned internal screens and every thing seems okay, it has fuel in all cavity's and it still will not pump. It's got me stumped so it's off to the repair shop on Monday. |

| Plungers may be stuck in pump. Sometimes I have been able to free them up by pouring hot water over the pump.. Did you bleed the pump and crack injector lines at the injector? |
