Mike in Mn. 02-19-2013 08:24:35 184.12.40.249 Report to Moderator	I would start with the easy stuff first, take the dist. cap off and make sure the distributor is turning, the oil pump drives the dist. so that would mean the cam is turning the oil pump.You did not state is you had the engine running or just turning it over. Next thing to check is if the pressure relief assembly was put back in the block. How far was this engine tore down, did you do the work yourself? If it was completely tore down, the cam bearings would have to be installed with the oil holes lined up. Check to see if the pressure relief asm. was put back in the block. (right hand side near the oil pan flange neer the center of the block, under the plug) There should be a plug, spacer washers, spring and a plunger. and in the oil line coming out of the block there should be a tee with a line going to the gauge and the other one going to the governor, by the governor there is a restricter fitting, if that has been left out it will build no pressure. Possibly air locked from being apart, but they usually prime. A few things to check out, Good luck!! [Reply]   [No Email]

I took out the oil pressure adjuster plug out and found the spring was missing. I put a new spring and some spacers in there and got the guage to show the desired pressure. [Reply]  [No Email]
