Hi Len Does your 1085 have the shifters mounted near the steering wheel? and the shifter is in up position when it slips out? If it does it is like our 1100 Massey. We had this problem...found out a mouse had built a nest under the linkages below the shifter. Open the small panel on the floor in front of the steering column, you may have an accelerator pedal down there too. check under the linkages for any dirt and gunk that will not allow the shifter to go completely into gear. If this is not it you may have worn shifter forks or detents. Wayne |

| Now I can give you guys some info. My MF1085 clutch was slipping under load and the adjustment did not seem to be working. Turned out that the linkage attached to the shaft coming out of the cluth housing, which has a knob on the lever was touching hard up against the bell housing and not letting the cluth to fully engage. An agle grinder did the trick!! Cheers |
