It was a felpro, and I did retorque. Head was planned, block thoroughly cleaned, no new studs is that where I went wrong. Doesnt leak alot just enough to irritate me. Little seep

| | Since you had the block planed, you had removed the studs to do so. Chances are you are getting seepage past one of the studs in the block (threads). This seems to me to be a common leak point, if on the manifold side (near the front, right?)... You could spin that stud out, apply sealant, then spin it back in, and torque the nut. | I would not torque over specs as the old studs or nuts may strip, mine did before reaching max. |

there still is another step. start it up and get it warmed up to operating temp for an hr. and retorque and reset valves. a lot of gaskets have the sealant built right in the gasket and seals when up to operating temp. also have the threads clean and lubed with neverseize or coppercoat . going 5 percent over spec is ok too.

When ever I replace head gasket on any thing from lawn mower to big engines I have the head planed, it will seal better and eliminate greef down the road later

Mine did too, retorque made no difference. Did you put in new studs, or get block planed?

After you warmed it up did you retorque the head like you should or did you skip that all important step

I'd give her a treatment of irontite, unless it's puking out a large amount of coolant. My dad's 270 Leyland had leaky liner seals 2 years ago, it was going to be her demise otherwise. It still hasn't put any coolant in the oil.
