Hi All,A query on oil. We have now two tractors an MF 590 and a recently acquired McCormick Cx100.The McCormick uses Hy tran in its trans and hydraulics, and will be sharing implements with the 590 I don"t want to mix the oils and I"m wondering would it be ok to put hy tran in the massey (its due an oil change anyway). So that both tractors use the same oil in any hyd cylinders and implements.? |

| I think it should be OK for the Massey. They have wet brakes and clutch packs just like the Nash. MF recommend Super Universal tractor oil(SUTO) and from what I can find out it is similar to Hy-tran. Most of these older Masseys are running half oil/ half water and a handful or two of soil and some metal filings....so anything is better than that!!!! Sam |
