I have a perkins AD3-152 I am looking to rebuild in frame hopefully. Does some kits contain cast sleeves and others crome sleeves? |

| | Just finished "in frame" rebuild with good results. We posted an article regarding removal and installation of sleeves on that rebuild in the howto section of another site . We used a Sparex kit. O |

| I agree with welding man take the engine out and do it right. I tried the in frame job a few years back and ended up removing the engine a few years later because of low oil pressure (main bearings). |

| Not that I am aware of. All are cast. Personally I don't do inframe rebuilts. It's a half azz job at best. You can't mic the crank properly. You can't replace the seals or check the timing gears for wear, and it's darn near impossible to get everything clean, but that's your choice. |
