Could someone give some help on this matter? I just bought a 1990 MF 3090 with Autotronic 18? speed. Tractor runs and all seems to be working ok, except it is in slow range and when I try to move the stick outward to the high range, it seems to be stuck and will not engage into high. I had someone try and engage it while I hit the lever at the transmission with a hammer and it still would not engage. Is this a computer problem or is it a synchronizer not engaging? Please help |

| the high/low range is operated i think by a solenoid that the gear stick engauges on the side of the transmission... it's an electrical switch as far as i know... my 3670 has some funny shift ideas once in a while... As far as i know the computer doesn't control it... the only gearbox control the computer does is stop powershifts in cold oil or over-rev situations... |
