Gerard Morris 12-13-2012 08:23:46 193.201.47.11 Report to Moderator	Hi. I have a 2WD MF152S and the three point lift started to go very slow (still plenty of force) and now will not lift. On investigation, the oil was low and I have filled it up but still no joy. I expect that the filter may be clogged (fair assumption ?). I have the user manual that points to a variety of places but not one that seems to apply to my variant. Does anybody have any idea where I may find it ? I have done a search on the forum and also the picture gallery and could not find a similar subject to 152 so I am sorry if this has been addressed before. Many thanks. [Reply]   [No Email]

Now i know we both have explained finding the filters in older and more modern MFs as we know them. So I am assuming if the filters are not where we know then his tractor is the Landini/MF 152S. I know the tractor you are thinking about....The French built MF152, but to my knowledge it was not built as a 152S. Instead the 152S had the styling of the 200 series or maybe even the later 300 series. I have just done a yahoo images search, and the MF152S does indeed look different to our conventional MF tractors. Sam [Reply]  [No Email]

The filter is in essentially the same place at the rear of the pump but access is different. If your tractor is a later one look first on the underside of the rear centr housing, roughly on a line from the transmission dipstick but on the underside. You may see a triangular plate held to the casing by three nuts or bolts. Drain the transmission and remove the plate. Inside you will find a spring clip and then a nut. Remove both and the filter will drop out. If you don't have the plat access can be gained through the left hand side-cover. This however will depend on what equipment is fitted such as IPTO or auxillary pipework, Assuming you don't have eithe and you have removed the cover you should find that the top of the filter is wired to the backplate of the pump. Cut the wire and use a small pair of pliers to undo the butterfly on top. Try and lift the complete assembly out as one. You will have the top cup, filter and bottom cup. There is a thin section O ring which normally stays on the pump. Ensure that it is not lost. Clean or renew the filter. If you don't have proper locking wire use a domestic electricalwire strand (cooker cable). Twist the wire ends after threading through the butterfly and backplate. Be careful as there are many potentially sharp edges on components around the filter. Replace the cover and refill with oil. If you have IPTO or aux pipework it may be necessary to remove the cover. It should be accessible from the cover on the left side of the transmission which has the PTO engagement lever. You will need to drain some of the oil before removing the cover. [Reply]  [No Email]

However it would probably be more helpful if I supplied the correct information ! I actually have a 154 ! I think it is a Landini, as suggested, as it has a made in Italy plate. The PTO control does not mount on the side under the seat like it does on the MF135 but is on a long thin lever that goes out through the back bulkhead. There is a plate with 6 bolts under the gearbox (Shown in the far right hand of the attached photo). Do I guess that this is going to be the hiding filter"s place ? Before I drain and drop this off, does a complete lack of pressure and no engine response one moving the levers point to a blocked filter or something more serious ? Thanks again for all your help.
