Would like to obtain a maintenance manual. Need to know how/where to check the rear axle gear oil ... and what weight is used. Had some small leakage that has since stopped with use. Also if there are any other oil(transmission?) fluids to check. I know about the - engine, air filter, and hydraulics (whats recommended for hydraulics?)Also I had wanted at one time to be able to use a post hole digger with this tractor, but was told its not possible due to the position of the pto. Any thoughts? |

Rudy- Pics of the hitch my brother made for his 44. He used 1/2" x 4" flat stock. A 33 is similar, but will bolt to the transmission housing a little different. The red metal is it. A bit hard to see because we have a log splitter pump on tractor right now. The unpainted angle is part of that and not normally on there. We use the red ears that are welded on horizontally for the center link of the post hole drill. Gets it above the tractor pto.

You just have to be inventive and make yourself a center hitch point above the pto. My brother and I just did that on his 44 and mounted my drill on it. Drilled 30 holes with no problem. If I can find the pic of it, I will email it to you.

I would appreciate a picture, to see if it could also be done on a 33.

I also have a 33 massey, the operaraters manuals are available on e-bay under Massey parts, the rear axle and transmission are all the same reservoir the capacity is 49 litres or 13 US gallons, it calls for S.A.E. 90 transmission oil. There should be a plug on the right side( brake pedal side) of the transmission housing to check the oil level, the hyraulic system capacity is 7 US quarts of 10 wt oil. Hope that answers your questions.Engine oil should be 30 wt.
