O.K. This usually opens a myriad of opinions, but. Had to pull the right axle housing on a recently purchased MF65. Brakes running in oil. Found bad seal on the cover plate. ? Is what fluid to refill with. I know the original manuals calls for 80-90 pure mineral oil. That was 50 years ago. I run UTF in all my other tractors. What do the experts out there suggest ?? |

| UTF should work just fine. Our Massey dealer just sells us jugs of UTF for our Massey's now, instead of the Perma-Tran 821XL. Haven't noticed any difference yet.

| MF Perma-tran would be my choice but I'd check with the MF dealer first. |

| No controversy over here in Uk...We all run with Super universal tractor oil 15w30 . If it is recommended by Massey for our tractors it sure as anything will suit yours! Sam |

| Use Hy-Tran in the transmission housing, 80-90 gear lube in planetaries. |

| Mineral oil was used because it is yellow metal friendly so the question is, is there yellow metal to worry about in it?? That said as long as the UTF meets the MF spec I would use that if not then I would find a fluid that meets that MF spec |
