There are 3 things with alignment of front ends. Cars, trucks, tractors, doesn't matter. Caster, camber and toe.
Toe in is pretty simple. In vehicles, the wheels spread a bit and it saves tire wear as well as allowing your vehicle to track down the road straight.
Camber, is the tip in of the wheels to allow the full amount of tread to hit the road at all times.
Caster is the ability to easily return the steering wheel to center. If you get tire wear or "digging" into a corner, this is where you need to look. It is not possible to weld or repair a piece without throwing off one or more of these angles. Replacement of said broken parts is the only way to get back into factory specs properly.
