I just got a MH 55 and am finding conflicting info on what it is. The Tag reads 55-GSH 1149. Thanks for any info. Dennis

The following is the letter info in massey serial numbers.A-high altitude
B-butane(lp)propane
D-diesel fuel
F-foot clutch
G-gasoline
H-hand clutch
K- low-grade fuel
O-orchard
R-row-crop
S standard
v-vineyard
W- wide axle
A 1 or 5 after the g on massey tractors 1952-1957 means;1-regular altitude;5-hi-altitude.

Yes it has a hand clutch. It has been changed to lp gas so I
will have to find a hood fuel tank and carb for it

Look at the serial #s on the left. Means riceland or hillside

The H may be High Altitude Gas engine. The H is used on some serial numbers for HAG engine.

Hi Dennis, You have a 1947 model.The G stands for
gas, The S for standard. The H is not mentioned
in my manual, but poss in yours on one of the lst
pages. Chuck
