Anyone know what which tractor weighs more/less? A MH 101 Super or Senior vs a MH 44 Short Frame (Standard). I know a MH 101 Super/Senior can be shaved down to enter 3500 lb pulling classes. What about a Short Frame 44? |

I think the 101 will weigh less, I have a early 44 rowcrop with tin wheels and small fronts, tin tranny cover, no hyds. etc. weighs 4000 depending on whose scale i'm on. PTO is still in it, someplaces it has to be there. I don't think a person could get a 30 down to 3600 unless you really stripped it and run modified. Even with a short frame I could not get my 44 down to 3600. The standard also had cast rear wheels.

Hmmm. Okay. Are you going to be at Pioneer Power this weekend pulling your 44? The pull is on Saturday. I"ve heard the early 44"s rearend weighed less than the newer ones? Not sure if there is any truth to that or not.

I am not going to pull at PP. I have heard that tractors have to be stock and have stock weights and draw bar etc. Mine has the usual mods and won't fit there. I know there featuring Massey, and I would love to get there but have wayyy toooo much going on this weekend. The earlier 44 is lighter than later ones, the later ones had a different casting etc. for the live pto. and I think the front frame is lighter on the earlier ones. I have a 44 special and the frame is thicker where the front bolts on. The one I pull is a 1950. I'm looking for a wide front from a 30 standard, know where there might be one?? Thanks.

Hey Mike, Yes, I know where there is one. My dad has one...not sure if he"s parting it out or not. I can check with him tomorrow at Pioneer Power. What would you give for it? Do you need the gearbox up front too?

I am interested, check with him and see if it's for sale, I would buy the complete unit or I have hubs and a gear box if its the same as a 44, be willing to pay a fair price, thanks.

Hi Mike, I talked to dad today, he said he would sell the front axle and gearbox out from under his 30. He really didn"t know what it is worth either. I know I"ve seen row crop wide fronts for 22"s & Mustang"s on this website for $350 to $400 and the 44 row crop wide fronts for the same if not more. Do you think $300 for the whole front end including the gearbox is fair? Let me know your thoughts.
