Hi,
Think we all have those s*** days occasionally. The 230 was bad luck and might not have been something you'd have seen even if you'd checked the fan before starting. The Ford, well nothing beats routine servicing. In the UK the common fuel filters cost about £3 each but less if you buy at trade. I'm guessing they'd be about $4-5 each for you. Not too painful and easily replaced.
Keep smiling ;0))

Now THAT'S a bad day!!!
This French-made MF 595 was driven about 7 miles very slowly and noisily to my premises by my customer. The rim decided to part company with the centre within about 50 yards of my workshop on my driveway. Could have been very different if it had happened on the road. Phew!!!

Now then David, I think you have photoshopped that picture. After all, everyone in Britain knows that The French built Massey Ferguson 595 was by far the finest and most reliable tractor that Massey ever produced.( He said, tongue firmly in cheek )

Damn! Roy, you guessed!!!!
My customer bought it for £100 with the engine seized and with some bits missing....and even had a good set of rear tyres in the price (surname's Price too) I rebuilt the engine and he has done some cosmetic work to it. Even though he has modern NH's and Cases he loves this tractor. There's always something special about a 'rescue' tractor that puts it above all of the new shiny bells and whistles stuff!!!!

Danny P, I can connect with your woes. Last Thursday I was coming from bushhoging with an ih424 when it died (cause undiagnosed as yet). Called my son and we were pulling the the broke one back with the mf150 when the steering on it broke. The inner tie rod that connects to the steering arm just wore out and fell down.No steering at all. Two pieces of of sh*t stuck down in the woods.

Hopefully a steering part will come tomorrow.
