just picked up a 44d. i think it's a special. ser.# 58919P. 44D1RF. what does the P stand for and is this a special? thanks, Brad |

| There were two different diesel pumps used on those tractors. one was mounted in the drive hole just as a distributot would be,(psb, i think) The other was driven where the hydraulic pump would normally be . I do not know how they were identified as to the serial numbers. |

| I'm pretty sure it stands for PSB pump. I have a 1954 44D Special. I also have a 44D both have PSB pumps.

| Hi Brad, It is a 1955 and a Special. Looked in a manual but doesn't say what the P is. Guessing only that they had two kinds of inj pumps and one starts w/ psb but only a guess. Chuck |
