Got the fluid back in the 180 and it doesn't do any better lifting now than before. Could it possibly be the relief valve may be sticking on the darned thing. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts on what it could be. Keith

Hi Keith,
With the right hand cover removed can you see the lever on the back of the pump moving as you raise and lower the quadrant position control lever. When you raise the lever the pump lever should move rearwards as far as the vertical lever will allow it. It can be seen to be leaning this way. The control valve is at the bottom of this. Check that it slides freely under spring pressure. Has the cap on the top of the hyd cover been removed? The tube inside which engages in the pump can be fitted incorrectly. If you reach around the 4 to 5 o'clock position on the RH cover hole you will be able to find the tube and ensure that it is engaged in the pump body.
Does this tractor have an isolating valve of any sort on the front of the hyd cover? If so, ensure that it is set to operate the linkage not for external services. Some have lever operated valves. Ensure that these are in the neutral position. Using a flashlight look inside the casing through the RH hole and upwards. Look for any sign of oil falling from above when the tractor is running and with the quadrant PC lever 'up'. If there is oil coming from above the cylinder may be cracked. On the top of the cover are 4 13/16" spanner size nuts. Check them for tightness. A broken cylinder will usually result in one being loose.
Let us know what you find.

Keith it sounds like your experiencing alot of the same problems I've had with my 65. After I replaced the o rings in the stand pipe under the top cover it worked better, but its still pretty weak and tries to bleed back off especially under a heavy load. I'm going to try replacing the safety relief valve inside the right hand cover on mine, hoping this will solve my problems. If not then my fears are my pump is just getting weak.

Looks like your not far from me, I'm over in mason county. Just across the river. Good luck!!

This is on my aux. pump, the primary (3 pt.) pump works good & lifts like it should. I haven't taken the right side cover off yet but will this week end when I get home. I can hear a constant whining when I start the tractor comming from the area of the hyd. pumps, kinda makes me think the pressure relief valve may be stuck or a leak in one of the internal lines. I'll let you know what I find out. Keith
