MF 85 - In the case of a stuck PTO hyd valve where the PTO remains engaged, even during load, I once heard of a guy putting a ball valve on the external hyd. line that feeds the pto hyd. valve, then when he wanted to shut the PTO off he just turned the valve. Anyone else heard of this and its success / failure ? Seems like a cheap alternative to splitting the tractor. It would not be as convenient, but for a tractor on which the pto is rarely used, perhaps it is a good choice ?

|  Don't think that would work. According to the flow diagram the dump valve for the PTO clutch is feed directly from the pump and from the overflow from the powersteering. Putting a valve in the return line from the powersteering would only stop half the flow.
