Hello, I have taken over repairs and maintenance of my fathers MF 3165 which has been abused and not kept up very well. The loader is having an issue I would like to try to solve so we can continue using it till my current cleanup project is over. The issue is that if both controls aren't used at the same time the bucket will tip down while raising the arms. My father thinks the seals are bad (though once you have them where you want them the arms and bucket barely seep) and I think the loader has a float control that has gone bad and is causing the issues. My biggest issue right now is trying to identify what valve control is currently on there. Does anyone know where I would find the part/model number on the valve control? I was also wondering if repair instructions are in the service manual or if I could find them somewhere else? I currently don't have a service manual, and I'm going to have to buy a lot of other manuals for other equipment and am hoping to avoid this one for as long as possible (money reasons). The issue has gotten bad enough that we can barely use the loader any longer. I would prefer to just buy another control valve unit from another company but I'm not sure if that would work or not, but not having the stats on this control unit makes it impossible for me to do that since I'm just starting on learning all this and am not 100% sure what I would need to purchase. Any help would be appreciated, and I can upload photos if it would help anyone. Thank you. |

| You might want to take the old one off and see if there is a return directly into the tank, but otherwise I would get an open center, 2 spool with one float position with 1/2 NPT threading. |

| The later MF34 loader which is basically the same has a selective self-level feature when you pull the lift valve all the way back. It tilts the bucket forward as you lift the arms so you don't dump the load in your lap. There could be a problem with that feature. I believe the valve is made by Parker Hannifan. Could just be the valve needs new seals or some of the bolts tightened. |

| Thank you. We have considered replacing it with a third party unit but I"m not entirely sure I can do that. Do you know if I can just pop a third party one on there with some brackets? My other concern was what specs I would need. I know I need a 2 spool , double acting with a power beyond adapter. I"m not sure on the GPM requirement or if an inlet relief valve is required. Any knowledge on that would be helpful. |
