The manual for my MF40 Industrial with a 3-cyl Perkins gas says to use "M-1129A" lubricant in the PS reservoir. It is the same thing recommended for the differential, etc. Does anyone know what it is or what equivalent I can use in the Power steering unit? The PS recentlt became slow and weak. Thanks |

| MF Perma-Tran 821XL is the newer version of 1129A. |

| I have the same tractor. All I did was add power steering fluid and grease the front end. Works good now. Mine had standard fluid in it, nothing special. |

| I have a 135 with factory PS. (Barnes Pump) I put type F fluid in the PS and PS quit working. When I disassembled the PS pump, The internal filter (paper) had come apart and was blocking the intake of the gear drive to pump the fluid. I now use Tractor supply Premium Universal Hydraulic fluid in trans and PS. It supersedes 1129A for tranny and 1101A for PS pump. The new filter has metal around the filter media that the old filter had lacked. Good Luck! |
