I could use some guidance regarding the draft control on my MF 65. As you know, there is a hand toggle to control both the arm lift and the draft. I have 2 questions about the draft.
First, the tractor manual indicates that the draft lever should be all the way at the top of the quadrant for lifting and lighter draft work. I'm attempt to plow, and the draft is not working at all, meaning when the plow is getting stuck, the draft is not engaging to lift the plow. I have the draft lever currently at the top of the quadrant, and moving it around to different spots hasn't seemed to engage the draft. Thought? Comments?
Secondly, in the tractor manual and stamped on the draft quadrant, it is suggested that the draft lever should be around the vicinity of the top or upper part of the quadrant. Furthermore, there is a way of locking it into place so that the draft can only moving in a very small section. If that's the case, then why is the draft quadrant extend all the way down or throughout the range just like the lift lever? Is the draft supposed to be very low on the quadrant for some reason?
I find the draft a little confusing on this tractor. Plus, I can't get it to work to help my plow. I have compacted VA soils that are proving to be difficult for even a 2-14 plow.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
